Tiko: Development Projects To Improve Living Conditions

A Budget of FCFA 1.4 billion to enhance development in that area in 2019 has been voted.

Authorities of Tiko Council have indicated that the municipality will boast of a municipal restaurant in 2019. The project is fruit of a grant won by the Tiko Council from the National Community-driven Development Program’s (PNDP) 2018 Performance Basket competition that involved all the 31 councils in the South West Region. The project to be sponsored by PNDP will gulp FCFA 50 million. In addition to that, PNDP will also construct an Integrated Health Center in Ombe. The Tiko Council has equally scheduled to organize farmers to have access to farm inputs and train them on soil management. There will be the construction of 12 culverts within the municipality, develop waste disposal site, maintenance of existing boreholes, and rehabilitation of earth road within the municipality among others. FCFA 1.460.000.000 was adopted recently during the second ordinary session dedicated for the 2019 budget to execute these projects.
