North West: Emphasis On Accelerating Rural Development

The region has been allocated the sum of FCFA 47,334,675,000 for investment projects in 2020.

For the North West Region to witness accelerated development this year, the government has allocated the sum of FCFA 47 billion as public investment. Priority areas concerns most education, sanitation, rural and municipal roads, potable water and rural electrification. In fact, a good chunk of the amount will be invested in farm-to-market roads, municipal roads like the rehabilitation of roads in Bamenda III, Benakuma, 11km Nangwa-Biando road, construction of culverts on some agricultural roads, asphalting of Babungo-Oku road and Nkor (Noni)- Lasin road, amongst others. Several other projects of rural electrification in different localities in the region, the construction of boreholes, water scheme like Baligham, Fungom water catchment and Esu water extension, Bambili village water supply are some of the projects in that domain.
