The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced that the agricultural sector contributed 76.38 per cent to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2017. According to sources at the ministry, the feat was realized thanks to efforts put in place to boost production in value added sub sectors, increase mechanization and equipment.
