The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Public Contracts, Abba Sadou yesterday September 18 began an inspection visit to some ongoing projects to assess the level and quality of work done.
The inspection visit by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Public Contracts to some ongoing major projects started at the Nkometou water treatment centre, being erected as part of the Project to supply potable water to Yaounde and its environs from the River Sanaga known by its French acronym as PAEPYS. The inspection visit of Minister Abba Sadou took him to the different projects sites where he appraised the level of work done so far. According to the Coordinator of the PAEPYS project, work is progressing and would be completed in a few months. The project which is in line with the Head of State’s greater achievement programme will furnish the nation’s capital and its environs with 300,000 to 400,000 cubic metres of water daily. The project when completed, will erase the water deficit gap Yaounde denizens are currently go through. The contractual period for the execution of the jointly funded project by the Republic of Cameroon and the People’s Republic of China to the tune of FCFA 399 billion is 36 months. Abba Sadou stressed the need for the strict respect of the terms of the contract while also pressing for the acceleration of work so that the project is realised within the stated time frame.
