T he International Business and Trade Fair, FIAC organised by Inter-Progress International Foundation under the leadership of Foundation President, Pierre Zumbach, has taken another dimension. FIAC’s partnership with the International SME Forum known by its acronym PMEXCHANGE, and endorsed by Trade Ministry in September 2019, has given birth to a giant dubbed FIAC-PMEXCHANGE that will organise ground-breaking trade fairs in Douala every even year. Speaking to journalists yesterday, Trade Minister, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana said the initiative is in line with the Head of State’s greater opportunity policy and charged the two parties that have come together to boost company’s performances and to carry Cameroon’s economy to the next level, to promote Cameroon’s label and image as well as contribute to the walk towards emergence. With Africa being a free trade zone, he enjoined them to take advantage of it. “Douala has to be positioned as the heartbeat and economic capital of Africa,” he said. On his part, the President of Inter-Progress, Pierre Zumbach disclosed that the partnership is a result of a longstanding relationship of many years of collaboration that created the confidence, coupled with the many PMEXCHANGE fair organised by E-CAM. For FIAC-PMEXCHANGE to grow, Pierre Zumbach said he counts on the decisive role of economic operators, political, administrative and traditional authorities and the Douala City Council as well as other structures that accompany big projects like SMID and SEDO.
