Over 30 exhibitors showcased their know-how to the hundreds of visitors during the maiden edition

Douala Grand Mall in partnership with an association that regroups home producers and manufacturers known as Asenia, has launched the maiden edition of “les WeekEnds du Made in Cameroon” over the weekend with the main objective to promote homemade in commercial centers. Held in the premises of Douala Grand Mall, over 30 small companies in diverse domains including cosmetics, agri-business, and fashion, showcased their knowhow to hundreds of visitors who tasted and bought as well as networked with some of the exhibitors. During the maiden edition, the General Manager of the Douala Grand Mall, Mathurin J. Kamdem made known that it is a platform of exchange as well as the promotion of homemade which aims at helping the young enterprises to be well structured and as well place them on quality lane for products to be of international standard. Placed on the theme: “Challenges of Made in Cameroon Products,” it is no news that one of the highest challenges is access to finance. Though the Cameroon government created a bank for small and medium-sized enterprises, it doesn’t still favour most small production units. The availability and affordability of quality packaging remains a problem while meeting standard and quality norms still remains a mystery to many. However, Cameroonian youths are really enterprising reason the General Manager of CFAO, Luc Demez, disclosed that Cameroon is not only rich in raw materials but have a youthful population that is ready to work and it is only right to give them a hand for ample visibility. On his part, the Vice President of Asenia who doubles as Littoral’s regional representative, Jean Pierre Mbanga, they have been carrying out series of sensitization since 2017 to propel made in Cameroon to Cameroonians and the outside world.
