Cassava: Good Quality on the Market

It is cassava harvesting season and the tuba crop has different quality depending on when it was harvested. Most cassava harvested from the month of March to June are not as good as those harvested from July to February. Cassava harvested from March to June are used in processing food items like garri, miondo and water fufu. There are two types; the red and white types. The red type is good for boiling. All farm produce are now more expensive. A bag of 50kg that sold between FCFA 3,000 and FCFA 4,500 same period last year, now sells at between FCFA 5,000 and FCFA 6,500 depending on the quality and type.
