The new factory will create 900 direct jobs and produce 600.000 tons yearly
Mboka Industrial Services, a company based in the South West Region with interest in the manufacture of construction materials, is currently finalising the establishment of a modern cement grinding plant in Ombe. The information was disclosed by Dr. Beyongo Mukete, the General Manager of Mboka Industrial Services, during a press conference on October 20, 2021. With an annual capacity of 600.000 tons, the plant will be the first in the Region and the first Cameroonian majority owned cement plant in the country. Dr. Beyongo Mukete while presenting the project, said the company has as objective to engage with the local community. In this light, over 900 jobs will be provided to people in order to attain this goal. Going by its General Manager, the plant will be built by a German company Gebr Pfeiffer with over 160 years’ experience in engineering, designing and building cement grinding plants. Dr. Beyongo said the key advantage of the plant being built by the company is its usage of comparatively low energy per ton of cement compared to other cement plants and technologies.
