The 8th edition of the International Exhibition of Enterprises, SMEs and Partnerships dubbed PROMOTE has ended in Yaounde with various participants counting their blessings at different levels.
By 6pm Sunday February 27, the curtains were drawn for the 8th edition of the International Exhibition of Enterprises, SMEs and Partnerships of Yaounde dubbed PROMOTE. For ten days, close to 800 enterprises from over two dozen countries exhibited their goods and services to capture not only the local market but also the international market. From February 19 to 27, the Yaounde Conference Centre and its precincts vibrated to business rhythm with large companies, Small and Medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, public corporations and establishments as well as government ministries selling either their services or products to the public. While some answered present for visibility, corporate imaging branding, others came to sell their products and yet another set of participants came to establish networks and prospect for new clients.
Enterprises drawn from all sectors of national life who took part in the event are now doing self-evaluation at individual levels while the organisers of the international trade fair, Fondation Inter-Progrès was yet to complete its evaluation by press time. The turnout was massive estimated in thousands of visitors. The success of the participating enterprises, SMEs and Start-ups is measured by their objective of participation. To the Commercial officer of one of the 30 Belgian enterprises at PROMOTE, ECO PRO (specialized in mobile sawmill), their machines attracted several potential clients which is a booster to them. The enterprise based in Belgium has announced the setting up of a base in Yaoundé in the next two months.
On her part, Cécile Beyene, Assistant Manager of Sanaga Drinks Sarl, a Cameroonian SME in the agribusiness sector (second laureate of Castel Foundation award for Agritech Innovation at PROMOTE), their participation is satisfactory because the young enterprises that processes sugar cane into various flavours of Rhum needed the kind of visibility that only PROMOTE can provide. “It was a wonderful opportunity to enable people discover Rhum Sanaga and increase our clients,” she told Cameroon Business Today while parking left over cartons of her products.
