T he Moroccan group Addoha intends to double its cement production capacity in Cameroon. Cement Factories of Africa (CIMAF Cameroon) its local subsidiary has just announced its plans to increase its cement production capacity from 500,000 tons currently to 1 million tons per year. The announcement was made during the economic tour to the factory by the Mayor of the city of Douala Roger Mbassa Ndine whose objective is to make the economic capital attractive. “CIMAF is on a growth streak, with the extension projects which will begin shortly, we will be able to have a greater cement production capacity and perhaps a relaxation in prices”, the Douala City Mayor indicated. The company thus intends to invest approximately FCFA 19 billion as part of its expansion project. Already in 2019, in order to benefit from the facilities provided for by the law of 2013 (revised in 2017) providing incentives for private investment in the Republic of Cameroon, CIMAF had signed an agreement with the government of Cameroon relating to the implementation of its project aimed at increasing its cement production capacity.
