The Information Communications Technologies (ICTs) and the internet has reshaped the world order and redefined the global economy. It has not only facilitated how people interact but has also facilitated business and service delivery. The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic which imposed lockdowns across the world and distance work environment further lends credence to the importance of digitalization. This paradigm change which is more a less a digital revolution is greatly transforming the world and greatly impacting economic growth. The digital sector is today overtaking even the industrial sector as a primary lever of economic growth as all sectors leverage on it to effectively function. In Cameroon, the powers that be quickly understood the intrinsic power of the digital technology and effected some investments to enhance digitalization. All government services today use digital tools like computers and are connected to the internet. Some services can be accessed online via the internet, with users not necessarily moving from far away locality to the nation’s capital. Taxation, Customs and other revenue generation administrations are making the most out of digitalization and the impact is palpable on the increasing revenue generated. The health domain with telemedicine reaches out to many where there is no doctor while education has been made easy through distance learning. In the domain of trade, digitalization has opened a wide market for commercialization of goods and services. Online marketing is today the order of the day, an open market where distance is not a barrier. Start-ups providing digital solutions to every day societal issues have sprouted employing thousands of youth and contributing their own small way in reducing the unemployment gap.
