The Minister of Energy and Water Resources in a communique says important quantity of petroleum products are about to be offloaded and put to the disposal of consumers.
T he city of Yaounde has since last weekend witnessed scarcity in the supply of gasoil in filling stations. Scenes of cues of automobiles could be seen in various filling stations on Monday as consumers struggled to refill their tanks at least for a few days. In a prompt reaction, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Gaston Eloundou Essomba, issued a communique detailing remedy measures taken by the government to ensure availability of petroleum products. According to the Minister’s statement, some 28,000 cubic metres of super, 22,000 cubic metres of gasoil and 12,500 cubic metres of Jet A1 fuel are about being offloaded and will progressively be put to the disposal of consumers. In addition, the release states, some supplementary 88,000 cubic metres of gasoil and 35,000 cubic metres of super presently on transit will arrive in the days ahead.
