Agriculture considered as one of the major pillars of Cameroon’s economy has undergone a lot of innovations by stakeholders and much is still to be done. To ensure better performance at the national and international levels, the Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises has engaged in many programmes, one of them being the Integrated Programme for the Valorisation and Transformation of Agricultural and Agrifood Products dubbed Transfagri. It is financed by the French Development Agency with the main purpose to boost the agricultural and agrifood sector through the development and sustainability of an ecosystem of services for the benefit of local economic players. Taking the initiative forward, the 4th edition of the National Networking Days of parties involved in the Agricultural and Agrifood Value Chain held in Douala on 11 October, 2023, on the theme: “the impact of agrifood product quality on the performance of agrifood SMEs and their contribution to import substitution as well as food security in Cameroon”. During the event, the General Manager of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency (APME), Jean Marie Louis Badga said the theme focuses on the quality of agrifood production as a springboard for import substitution, as a factor in food safety and as a source of performance for SMEs.
