T he 2nd edition of the Foire Internationale des Affaires et du Commerce de Douala (FIAC) has come up stronger with a lot of innovations. For 12 days, all roads will lead to the Bepanda Omnisports Stadium in Douala where exhibitors from different sectors including the agro-industry, administration, agriculture and livestock, banking and finance, fashion, industries, cosmetics, service providers, construction and telecommunication among others create awareness and sell innovative products to the public and prospective investors. The profile of exhibitors for the ongoing international trade fair is encouraging with most if not all the companies inventing innovative products daily. According to recent statistics from the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, 99 per cent of companies in Cameroon are SMEs and they contribute enormously to the country’s economic growth thus, without a good reputation, historical discipline, resources and the rate of performance, they will amount to nothing. Among the over 400 enterprises that are showcasing their products at the trade fair ground, close to 100 are from the agro-industry. The companies accord a prime place to research and creativity and the results are innovative. Endowed with a lot of natural resources, smart agro-industries in Cameroon produce wellness and therapeutic products to improve and maintain the health of their customers.
