Board members of the North West Development Authority (MIDENO) have saluted the effective and transparent management of the institution’s activities in 2023. This was during the board meeting which took place in Bamenda late last month to examine and adopt Results Based Budget of the Authority in 2023. The board members equally had the opportunity to look into the 2023 annual report, the general information on some upcoming projects, achievements realised, and also looked into some giant development projects that will soon see the light of day in the region. The project coordinators of Livestock and fisheries reported on the preparedness of the second phase of the project while that of the Rice Value Chain Development project equally briefed the members on how far the project has gone. Members of the board in the presence of the North West Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique who also doubles as the Board chairman, adopted the budget and urged the Director General Anye Cletus Matoya to ensure that the recommendations and resolutions arrived at are made. The management of MIDENO was urged to rigorously follow up the ongoing works on the construction of part of the fence of the MIDENO building, the construction of the coffee shop, rehabilitation and maintenance of rural roads and the rehabilitation of maize seed drying structures. The board members saluted the management of MIDENO for the steps taken to surmount some of the difficulties during the year under review. The members received with hope information on the FCFA 4.3 billion Emergency project to fight against food insecurity which MIDENO will be implementing in 2024/2025.
