T he Director General of Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL), Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi and the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms (MINFOPRA), Joseph LE alongside their respective collaborators have met at CAMTEL’s headquarter in Yaounde to take stock of the road covered so far in the digitalization of public service. Meeting on January 18, 2024, the two personalities assessed the execution of the partnership agreement for the digitalization of the central and decentralized services of the Ministerial department, signed on June 13, 2022 between MINFOPRA and CAMTEL The partnership agreement aimed set up a collaborative platform to effectively address the challenges linked to the digital transformation of the Cameroonian public administration. Going by the partnership agreement, the incumbent State owned Telecommunications Company, CAMTEL is committed to providing MINFOPRA with secure and reliable internet connections via specialized optic fibre and radio links, high speed interconnection of all MINFOPRA services and the securing of data and access to services of the Zamengoé Data Center. Also, the nation’s foremost telephone company has to ensure the establishment of a toll-free number coupled with an SMS notification platform.
