Major Innovations To Boost Performance

The ninth edition of the International Exhibition for Enterprises, SMEs and Partnerships of Yaounde

T he government mandated organizer of the International Exhibition for Enterprises, SMEs and Partnerships of Yaounde (PROMOTE), Fondation International Inter-progress, has introduced major innovations in this year’s edition to give it the grandeur it deserves. With some 800 enterprises, SMEs and government institutions taking part from Africa, Europe, North America and Asia (some 18 countries including Cameroon), organizers have mounted various pavilions for the participating countries except Cameroon. For Cameroonian exhibitors, they are divided according to their sector of activity. This is to ease accessibility for thousands of visitors who on one spot, can find diverse made-in Cameroon products or services concerning a particular sector. Prominent sectors includes agro-industry, cosmetics and wellness, tourism and leisure, mines and furniture amongst others. Among the prominent innovations this year is the massive presence of European companies. With France taking the lead, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Turkey, Germany etc., the European Union’s presence is remarkable. This explains why for the first time, the European Union Business Week is taking place on the side-line of PROMOTE. The European Union Business Week will culminate to the signing of funding conventions for the financing of agro-pastoral value chains. It also aims at presenting Cameroon’s comparative advantages (opportunities) to European investors. The United Kingdom is also on the investment offensive during this edition of Promote. Apart from the UK Pavilion, the British delegation is also organizing activities outside the traditional PROMOTE venue. Some of their activities such as “Green Economy Symposium, UK Education, Women in Business and Innovation etc., would be taking place outside the main venue. The UK delegation has also been meeting with State officials to discuss investment opportunities as the country is poised to expand investment and trade deals with Cameroon.
