The prices of macabo cocoyams, a staple ingredient for traditional dishes like ekwang and kwacoco continue to fluctuate as demand increases. Sourced from farmers in the South West region, including Bova, Bokwango, Bonakanda and sometimes the Foumbot area, the macabo cocoyam is prized for its unique flavour and texture. Interestingly, while the red variety is considered crunchier, households tend to prefer the white macabo cocoyams.
