The Cameroon Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange, BSTP works to promote industrial subcontracting in Cameroon and the main objective of BSTP is to provide local manufacturing companies with tools and services that improve their performance and practices and enable them to access the industrial subcontracting market. The BSTP’s main aim is to increase levels of production, employment, and investment in the industrial subcontracting sector, as well as improve productivity and competitiveness at national, sub-regional, and international levels. For this to happen, the BSTP is convinced that it is essential to improve the insurance culture in SMEs, since it is important for their growth and their resilience in the face of various risks. “Well-insured companies have greater credibility when seeking investment from financial institutions and partnerships with international companies,” the Executive Director of BSTP, Evariste YAMENI said during the signing of a convention on behalf of companies in the subcontracting sector with AREA Insurance company. Hence, the purpose of the partnership, which aims to put in place concerted initiatives to promote the culture of insurance as part of the support and facilitation of links between SMEs in the BSTP portfolio and major national and international companies. As per the terms of the contract between the two parties, BSTP will promote a culture of insurance and risk management within companies to enhance their resilience, communicate about the partnership on all BSTP platforms; and introduce insurance prerequisites based on activity to join the BSTP and organise workshops on good insurance practices.
