S ome 10 281 cocoa producers who are affiliated to the Rainforest Alliance – Sustainable Agriculture Standards (RA-SAS) with Agroproduce Management Services (AMS) were in the 2024/2025 cocoa session paid premiums on time. The bonuses otherwise known as sustainable differentiate is an additional amount that certified cocoa farmers received over market prices after a successful certification year. It is a token from consumers through chocolate companies to appreciate their farmers for following norms and producing quality cocoa beans. The farmers’ activities are monitored by AMS under the leadership of Etake Divine Ngaaje. The amount paid in 2024 was FCFA 905 615 865. It was distributed to farmers in cocoa basins of the South West, Littoral and Centre Regions. The Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers’ Association (CENPA) took interest in AMS community service. AMS was then nominated into the category of “2024 Farmers Empowerment Champion Award.” On Saturday July 5, 2025, AMS emerged as the winner. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AMS, Etake Divine, was handed the award in Buea during the CENPA award ceremony that brought together politicians, economic operators, bankers, traditional rulers and journalists.
