T he first Regional Finan cial Rating Forum will take place in Douala on October 28 and 29, 2026, bringing together regulators, investors, financial institutions, companies, and market experts to examine how financial ratings can strengthen transparency, confidence, and investment attractiveness in the CEMAC region. Organised by Geneva Investment Corporation (GIC Rating), the first financial rating agency accredited by the Central African Financial Market Supervisory Commis sion (COSUMAF), the forum will be held under the theme, “Financial Rating: A Driver of Transparency and Attractiveness for States and Companies in the CEMAC Region.” The meeting is designed as a platform for dialogue on the growing role of financial ratings in the development of the regional capital market. Participants will discuss how independent assessments of credit risk can improve access to financing while providing investors with clearer information on the financial and governance conditions of issuers. At the centre of discussions will be financial transparency, corpo rate governance, capital-market attractiveness, risk manage ment, and the contribution of credit ratings to development financing. The forum will also explore the importance of re liable financial information and independent analysis in stren gthening investor confidence and supporting the mobilisation of capital by both public and private-sector entities. The event comes as the CEMAC financial market undergoes modernisation.
