Edea : “Kids Light” is Major Innovation

With an estimated budget of FCFA 12 million, “Edea in the Light” will also host a special mini trade

dea, the Head Quarter of the Sanaga-Maritime Division, is working round the clock to give its inhabitants a befitting end-of-year feast through various breath-taking events. The period affectionately referred to as “Edea in the Light”, will not only embellish the town with decorations and lighting, but will also play host to crowd-pulling events. According to the Government Delegate of the Edea City Council, Nzoke Dieudonné, the City Council organises such events in order to commune with the population and make them feel at home. Though the Edea City Council has been organising activities to mark end-of-year feasts, there are innovations this year as a programme for children known as “Kids Light” will run from December 23rd to 26th. Nzoke Dieudonné disclosed that the kids programme is opened to all children irrespective of their social class. For four days, children who make it to the Kids Light will enjoy traditional dances, play games and enjoy “merry-go-round”. The Edea City Council’s Human Resource Head, Annie Roselyne Gwet Nyom disclosed that the Kids Light that is also opened to street children will comprise the promotion of mother tongue and the election of Mr/Miss Kid Light.
