Employment, Entrepreneurship: Digital Skills As Backbone To Success

Some 150 young Cameroonian start-uppers with innovative ideas have undergone a training to sharpen their digital savvy during the fourth edition of the Cameroon Digital Skills Campaign.

Digital skills are the fuel of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and there is an unprecedented challenge to prepare future generations of learners for a perpetual evolving landscape of new skills, jobs and technological changes. It is against this background that the National Agency for Information and Communication Technology (ANTIC) and The Change Engine, a non-governmental organization, organized the fourth edition of Cameroon Digital Skills campaign on the theme “Digital Skills for Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship in the Post-Covid Technology Driven Economy.” The campaign which is in its fourth edition, according to the Director General of ANTIC, Prof Ebot Ebot Enaw, aimed at preparing the country to fully benefit from the fourth industrial revolution (digital revolution), ensure that the youth have the requisite skills to access upper tier employment, pursue grand entrepreneurial ventures as well as harness technology to create and tailor made solutions to Cameroon’s complex problems while generating income for themselves. “Digital innovations have the ability to help Cameroon leapfrog many of its development challenges,” he stated while reiterating the fact that a digital revolution is underway and promises significant shifts in the way technology shapes sectors and society. The platform therefore was opened for experts and young innovators to x-ray opportunities of employment, job creation and business relative to the Information and Communication Technologies.
