Entrepreneurship: Cameroon-Quebec Strengthen Ties

A two-day meeting in Douala brought entrepreneurs from both sides to network and share innovative id

T he 3rd edition of the International Entrepreneurship Forum organised by the General Delegation of Quebec in Dakar, in collaboration with its partners, took place in Douala on November 1-2 under the auspices of the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Achille Bassilekin III. The two-day forum that held on the theme: “Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Heart of Development”, with the main objectives to strengthen the capacity for innovation and resilience of entrepreneurs to make them a vector of inclusive and sustainable development, also aimed at strengthening Quebec-Cameroon collaborative initiatives in terms of entrepreneurship. Other emphasis on the two-day forum sought to promote business innovations as a vector of growth, raise awareness among young entrepreneurs of emerging issues, promote networking and sharing of experiences between different actors in the entrepreneurial ecosystems of Quebec and Cameroon and as well as promote a culture of decision-making based on evidence. During the meeting that saw the presence of the High Commissioner of Canada in Cameroon, Minister Achille Bassilekin III reminded the over 200 participants that since 2020 under the Head of State Paul Biya, Cameroon has been endowed with the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 with the aim to bring about the social transformation of Cameroons economy.
