Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL has launched a competition to support young start-uppers and entrepreneurs. The Blue Tech challenge was launched on February 28, 2023 by CAMTEL’s General Manager Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi during the “CAMTEL Youth Day,” organized as part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary of the incumbent telecommunications company. Held on the theme “Youth at the Forefront of Digital Transformation,” the event brought together young start-uppers, tech engineers, entrepreneurs and other key players in the digital sector to examine the role of the youth in accelerating digital transformation in Cameroon within the context of the National Development Strategy, NDS30. Opening the discussions, CAMTEL’s General Manager, Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi underscored the importance and contributions of youths in building a strong digital economy. She reassured the youths of CAMTEL’s resoluteness in supporting their creative genius.

Blue Tech Challenge

The competition will consist of putting universities, major schools, researchers and startups in the Cameroonian digital economy sector into competition to reward excellence and best initiatives. Equally, the Blue Tech Challenge which is specifically based on international experience will award nine prizes in various categories among them; best woman-led start-up award, technological innovation award for people with disabilities, best women entrepreneurs...
